Dr. Mercola’s Complete Probiotic Powder Packets for adults pack 70 billion beneficial bacteria into a serving while the packets for kids pack 10 billion beneficial bacteria. The Probiotic Powder Packets contain 10 strains of bacteria, including super-strain lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1, and promote an optimal environment for the growth of “gut-friendly” bacteria. The product comes in an organic raspberry flavor and it claims to provide critical support for your immune system health, aid in the breakdown and removal of harmful toxins, and help support blood pressure levels that are already in the normal range.
My husband was the guinea pig for this review. He was already taking a probiotic (in pill form) and agreed to try Dr. Mercola’s Powder Packets. He said the flavor is good and he liked the powder because it helped him drink additional water vs. in pill form. It was hard to say if it worked any better than his normal probiotic but there were definitely no ill effects. He felt good, it was nice not to take a pill and the taste was satisfactory. Personally, I don’t love all the waste associated with individual packets but I did see where they also sell them in pill form. On the upside the packets require no refrigeration and they are convenient. The kids packets are recommended for ages 4 and up, therefore I did not test these out on my kids. My goal is to find another mom that can use them and get back to me with their review (updates to come.)
